Groups are led by a licensed and certified occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, a psychologist or other mental health professional, and assistants. All staff attend weekly team meetings, during which more specific aspects of the DIR® model are discussed and applied to the children currently participating in the group. Videotapes of staff with the children are reviewed to facilitate further development of staff skills, and staff participate in individual coaching/supervision meetings to facilitate their ability to provide intervention consistent with the model.
