Ji-Young Yoon, Ph.D.

Dr. Ji-Young Yoon is a licensed psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) trained in psychological and psycho-educational assessment as well as therapy across the lifespan. She received her from Temple University in Philadelphia, where her research focused on student and school predictors of racial discrimination.

Dr. Yoon has over a decade of experience evaluating and treating vulnerable children and those with special needs in various school and outpatient settings, including public and independent schools, community mental health agencies, a university psychoeducational clinic, hospitals, nonprofits, and in private practice. Previously, Dr. Yoon worked as a school psychologist and IEP/504 coordinator in an underserved, urban public school district in Connecticut, where she assisted in eligibility determinations, identified appropriate services and supports, and offered consultation to teachers and parents. She has specialized training in the evidence-based treatment of OCD, PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders. In the area of assessment, she has specialized training in cross-battery assessment of cognitive functioning and processing, including executive functioning; assessment of social, emotional, and behavioral functioning; and standardized assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders.

Dr. Yoon is also a Registered Art Therapist (ATR), trained in both verbal and creative arts modalities to foster connection and healing.

As a psychologist at TLC, Dr. Yoon is passionate about forging collaborative relationships with families and across disciplines and being a nurturing advocate for all students.
