TLC’s Therapeutic Interaction Groups utilize the Developmental, Individual Differences, Relationship-Based model (DIR®/Floortime™) model for early intervention, a comprehensive treatment approach. In this multidisciplinary program, groups are led by a licensed and certified occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, psychologist or other mental health professional.

Each child’s needs are addressed through a treatment plan based upon the child’s individual profile that utilizes his/her own interests to enhance engagement and participation during individual, small, and whole group activities. All activities have specific goals which enhance specific developmental capacities.

Videotaped interactions between parents and children, parent coaching, and parent groups help to facilitate progress and generalization of skill development at home.

Current speech-language and occupational therapy evaluations within one year required for application and admission to program. Each child is screened to ensure the group meets his/her needs.
