Image1 Casey Atabek is a school counselor and therapist with more than 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. Her career began as a Teach For America corps member, followed by a decade of teaching in Title I public schools before transitioning into school counseling and clinical mental health counseling. Casey earned a Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. In addition to her work at TLC, she serves as a K-8 school counselor and provides therapy services at TLC. Her counseling approach is warm, collaborative, and relationship centered. Casey strives to create a safe and supportive environment where children feel genuinely cared for, welcomed, respected, and heard. She believes that every child deserves to feel understood and supported, with confidence that their feelings are valid and their experiences matter. Casey enjoys helping children and adolescents navigate life's challenges, better understand themselves, and build confidence and resilience. Her areas of focus include anxiety, school-related stress, emotional regulation, self-esteem, friendships and peer relationships, behavioral concerns, and major life transitions. Her background in education provides a unique understanding of how emotional well-being, family dynamics, friendships, and school experiences are deeply interconnected, allowing her to support children and families through a holistic and strengths-based approach.
