Christen Fanelli, Ph.D.

Dr. Christen Fanelli is a licensed psychologist, school psychologist, and school counselor, trained in neuropsychological, psychological, and psycho-educational assessment as well as therapy across the lifespan. She received her master’s degree in school counseling from Manhattan College and her doctoral degree in school psychology from Fordham University. Dr. Fanelli’s predoctoral clinical training includes a pediatric neuropsychological externship at the Child Study Center at NYU Langone and a internship with the Clifford Beers Clinic, where she trained in trauma informed care for children and adolescents, and the Marne Street Clinic, where she specialized in therapeutic treatment and neuropsychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Fanelli completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center, where she furthered her specialized training in pediatric neuropsychological assessment.

Dr. Fanelli has over fifteen years of experience working in schoolw, hospitals, and outpatient clinics and firmly believes that every individual has the ability to foster change in their own lives. Her clinical work with children and adolescents focuses on developing strategies to cope with stressors and utilizing a growth mindset to continuously learn from experiences. She has experience working with life transitions, trauma, emotion regulation, relationships, socialization, depression, anxiety, and grief and has enjoyed providing group therapy including social skills groups.

Dr. Fanelli has conducted over 500 evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults focusing on autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, and overall social and emotional functioning. Her goal is to understand how individuals learn and think, and to identify strengths as well as supports needed to promote their development.
