Laura Shonberg

Laura Shonberg earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Point Park University in 2016, and is currently on a path to achieving her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in TESOL from the University of Maryland (College Park). She has served as a special educator for Talbot County Public Schools, as well as Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS); Laura has been with MCPS since 2017 as a special educator for middle schoolers. Additionally, she has experience tutoring individuals of all ages, from 5 years old to adults, in a variety of subjects (academic to executive functioning to life skills) in both virtual and in-person settings. Also, though Laura has already been trained in multiple reading, math, and writing interventions (such as Orton Gillingham, Math180, and Step-Up to Writing), she continues to attend intervention trainings to stay updated on best practices and strategies.
